About us

Built in Nairobi for the people who keep the city running.

Mboka Yetu Jijini — “our work in the city” — is a Kenyan marketplace that connects households and businesses with verified local service providers.

Why we exist

Finding a trustworthy fundi, cleaner or tutor in Nairobi still runs on word of mouth and luck. Skilled people — especially recent TVET graduates — struggle to be found. We built a marketplace where trust is visible, distance is honest and the first conversation is free.

What makes us different

  • Verification you can inspect. Four separate checks with dates, not one vague badge.
  • Distance you can trust. Exact-area matches first, then clearly labelled nearby ones. We never widen a search silently.
  • Search that speaks your language. English, Kiswahili and Sheng — on the web and on WhatsApp.
  • No commission on jobs. Providers keep what they earn; the platform runs on simple plans and small, clearly stated unlock fees.
  • Sponsored pathways. Counties, TVETs and NGOs can sponsor cohorts so graduates start earning sooner.

Where we operate

Nairobi, Kiambu and Kajiado counties today, with more counties opening as verified providers join. Searches outside coverage are told so honestly rather than shown far-away results.
