Verified means checked — and we show you exactly what was checked.
Each provider carries four separate checks with dates. We never collapse them into one vague badge, and every check expires.
Identity
National ID or passport plus a live selfie, checked by our verification team. The name on the ID must match the profile.
Credentials
Trade certificates, licences and business registration where the service requires them. Shown as checked only after human review.
Background
Certificate of good conduct where provided. We record the date and set an expiry so old checks are never shown as current.
Referees
Two referees contacted directly by our team. Their details are never published.
What “verified” does and doesn't mean
A verified badge means the specific checks listed on the profile were completed by our team on the dates shown. It reduces the risk of dealing with someone who isn't who they say they are. It does not guarantee the quality of workmanship, the final price, or timekeeping — reviews and quotes exist for that.
How your contact data is protected
- Provider phone numbers and home addresses are never on public pages. Only a base area and travel radius are shown.
- A provider's contact is released only after a recorded, paid M-Pesa unlock — and the access expires.
- Quote requests go through the platform, so you don't have to share your number until you choose to.
- Identity documents live in restricted storage visible only to the verification team, and are deleted on request.
Reporting and safety escalation
Anything that feels unsafe — harassment, fraud, a provider who isn't who their profile says — can be reported from any profile, from WhatsApp by typing report, or with the button above. Safety reports open an urgent case with a 30-minute response target during working hours.
Preview profiles
While the marketplace launches, some profiles are labelled Preview profile. They are sample data that show how approved providers appear. They aren't real tradespeople and can't be booked.
